Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP)

Children age 0-19 are covered for a full comprehensive eye exam every year and any needed follow-up visits.

Adults age 20-64 are not covered under OHIP. However, certain patients in this age group are eligible for OHIP coverage when there are underlying medical conditions or eye conditions.

Adults age 65 and older are covered for a full comprehensive eye exam every year and any needed follow-up visits.

Private Insurance

We will help prepare insurance claim forms and assist in requesting reimbursements from insurance companies on behalf of our patients. Not all services may be covered by vision insurance and every plan has its own unique quirks and exceptions. It is the patient’s responsibility to understand his or her own vision insurance benefits. Services are to be paid for at each visit as they are performed.
